This newly renovated 1925 North Park home blends its original architectural charm with a warm, contemporary California sensibility. The design honors the historic neighborhood’s Spanish Revival and early Craftsman influences while introducing a clean, elevated palette of warm whites, soft sage/blue greens, natural woods, and aged brass elements that feel right at home with today’s San Diego coastal vibe. Like many homes of this era, the original layout of the kitchen was compartmentalized and closed off from the main living areas. My clients wanted the galley kitchen to feel more open and brighter with sight lines into the dining and living rooms. This was achieved by adding a widened archway and peninsula connecting the two spaces. The result is a light-filled kitchen that feels collected rather than constructed, as if it evolved gracefully over time. This multifaceted renovation included a full kitchen remodel, fireplace refresh, two bathroom makeovers, laundry room addition, new wood flooring, decorative lighting, and solid brass interior door hardware throughout. Beyond the main house, the project also encompassed a complete backyard transformation featuring a newly built rectangular pool, spa, and an ADU with a full kitchen and bathroom.
